Stigma

I saw the look in your eyes when I told you.

I still see it. It’s burned into my memory bin.

It haunts me like a ghost without the ‘boo!’

I saw the look in your eyes when the medicine kicked in, boo.

I still see it. The reflection of disapproval towards this mannequin.

You should have just given me the shoe.

I saw the look in your eyes when it halted us two.

I still see it. Makes me feel worth less than tin.

Maybe I should just have blamed the brew.

I saw the look in your eyes, my head went askew.

I still see it. Never will it make me anything but chagrin.

Felt like you had run me through.

I saw the look in your eyes, not quite what you wanted to ensue.

I still see it. It feels more like I should’ve had some gin.

Makes me think my body has plotted a coup.
